Schwinn American Combo padlock

I recently came across an American Combo padlock made by Junkunc Bros, that was sold through Schwinn. I'd like to find the combo so I can give it to my little brother for a present. It's used, but it still has the original box and it's in great shape. The serial # is 14663 . Anyone have the codes listed for American combos?? I tried to open it like the Masters, but the manipulation technique doesn't seem to work on this one. Mark

Nice! Bet that is not too common with the box!

yeah, my little brother and myself are both into biking, both mountain and road. He was telling me about the lock he used to have on his bike when he was a kid and lo and behold, I ran across the exact same thing in a junk shop and just had to get it, now to get the combo. Mark

Re: Schwinn American Combo padlock
Shim it open and look down the shackle hole to see the gates in the wheels.
The real combo number will be around 11 numbers different.(At least on the master combo locks)
If no one has the code.

For a last resort maybe...This is a direct read method, it works very well. When you drill the hole and insert what ever probe that fits you can line up the gaps and the combo will be what is showing when they are lined up. Then you have to fill the hole which is where most people don't like this method. JB weld maybe ? Just another option.

Re: Schwinn American Combo padlock
Thanks for the drill point on the American. What publication is that? Same drill point for a Master 1500?
Re: Schwinn American Combo padlock
The drill point comes from the Foley Belsaw course..I will add the Master & Yale drill points, I'm sure they vary.

Re: Schwinn American Combo padlock
Well after several hours of manipulating I was able to figure the combo out. It turned out to be 3-16-31. I'm thinking that perhaps American/Junkunc supplied Schwinn with their own unique codes that probably aren't published in any code books. Mark
