Damn, well done on the Best!!

I have proof that another day means another war won and a challenging lock opened. Yesterday, I posted that the day before an American 700 had won a few battles but the war would be mine (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6299&start=225).

Around 2am, I approached the 700 and point blank informed the lock that she was about to become my b*tch and after a few minutes she accepted her faith and popped open, not once but several times thereafter. After the victory, I realized I have another 700, after the same approach she too gave in multiple times lol.

The first one was made in September 2003 and the second was made in September 1992. It was already late enough so I didn't gut the 1992 but I am very curious to see what, if any, chance were made in the 11 years between the locks but they both felt almost exactly the same when picking except the 1992 was smoother/clearer clicks since it is brand new. i will post the guts of the 1992 as soon as I gut it later tonight.

Lock from rerun12. 6-pin SFIC (Best?). Not positive but I think it is a J keyway. Amazing how easy an open keyway seems after working on a WC. Thanks!

That Wink Haus made its way to me. Some really cool stuff inside! I was wondering why the core felt like it had detents at 90 degrees. Now I know why. This should be fun to reassemble

Great pins in that WinkHaus. Those driver pins are varied, making picking more of a challenge. Too bad the other pins are passive. They sure look impressive.

The oddball pins definitely made it interesting. The keyway is challenging, too. I bent the heck out of my 0.015 hook and gem. Here's a shot of the dimples in the key:

Another from my trade with flywheel: American A1100. These are always a pretty tricky pick, and that short pin 3 gave my Gem a workout

Another one from my trade with flywheel. This little Brinks was giving me a surprising amount of trouble. I was having a lot of trouble getting feedback with the springy Sparrows version of the prybar. I decided to put it down for a while and buy some new toys.

Well today my Peterson prybars (0.050 and the "thin" in 0.040) came in, along with the new purple-handled 0.018 picks. Took me about a minute to get it open.

I'd really love to see what's inside this baby. Feels like it's full of spools. It fell into a really, really deep false set, and the core is floppy right from the start. Fun pick!

One more slain! This little Hurd USN lock (from the elbow himself) gave me nothing but trouble. I've been hammering on it on and off for months.
