Everyone who knows me on here knows that Sargent is my FAVORITE lock. I have a TON of them...different styles/functions/keyways.
Here is an example of each kind!
Mortise cylinder (L) Rim Cylinder (R)


2 different styles of Key in Knob...Sargent makes many styles of knobs and levers, they all use a slightly different cylinder


6300 series removable core (one lobe larger than the other), 5100 series removable core (both lobes the same size), Sargent restricted keyway SFIC


Older padlock which basically can not be rekeyed (without drilling out each pin cover), new style padlock with uses a KIK with housing

There are several levels of high security:
Degree, which is similar to Medeco M3; Keso F1; Signature; XC; and Keso.

Thanks man I have never picked a or owned a Sargent . I did not know there are that many different kinds are they difficult to pick that keso is purdy . I would love to do a trade some day how hard are those kesos to get ? I got some scorpions mortise.

I am not the best at picking, but depending on how they are pinned, they can be fairly easy, or extremely tough to pick (just ask Cyrano). The tolerances seem to be pretty good throughout.
I got my Keso from eBay. Every so often I see Keso padlocks, with and without keys on there. Just gotta keep looking!

Do Sargents generally have sec-pins? If so... what types?

I have never seen a security pin in a Sargent. The Signature and higher level locks have sidebars and the like, though.

He is not lying. Some of them will make you hate life; others will pop open in a very satisfying way without too much trouble.

Here is more stuff. On the left is what remains of the Sargent pin kit I got from ebay last week. It got all kinds of messed up in shipping, the pins got mixed together and there was no way I was gonna sort through them. I kept all the retaining clips, springs, etc. On the right is a pin kit I put together with top, bottom, and master pins. Then we have 2 plug followers, a key gauge, a plug holder made from an old mortise cylinder, and a staking tool for the top pin strips.

That is a brand new in box Sargent KESO. All the padlocks are keyed alike and I have several keys. I was going to get more keys made but it's expensive and no one can guarantee they will work, so I gave up on that project and decide to sell the extras.

The ilco blank is KE4 if anyone was wondering.

I would need to see pictures. I am guessing by the age it's a lever padlock, which I know nothing about :/
